BetVictor Isthmian League North
Saturday 4th January 2020
Kick Off @ 3:00pm

GAME ON – the pitch passed an inspection this morning and so today’s game goes ahead as planned.

After Wednesday’s heavy defeat at Sudbury we have a chance to get ourselves back on track tomorrow afternoon when we welcome Basildon United to Bridge Road.

Ed Rolph’s late goal was enough to get us all three points when we visited their place back in August but since then our visitors have made a few changes. In the dugout there have been a couple of managerial changes with Kris Newby the latest the latest to take on the role, the midfielder acting now as interim player-coach. His chances of taking the job permanently were boosted by their impressive 4-2 win over Grays in Newby’s first game in charge on Wednesday.

Our own Gaffer will be looking for a reaction from his side after Wednesday’s performance. Recent defensive solidity and a strong run of form came to a crashing end at Sudbury but the games are coming thick and fast and offer a chance to rebuild that momentum. After tomorrow we go to Coggeshall Town on Tuesday and then Brentwood Town next Saturday and a couple of good results will make Wednesday’s result look like the blip we hope it was.

Kick Off tomorrow is at 3:00pm.
