HISTON v AVELEY
Pitching In Isthmian League North Division
Saturday 10th October 2020
Kick Off @ 3.00pm

Tomorrow we play our second home game of the season when we welcome Aveley to Bridge Road for a 3pm kick off.

Last season this fixture ended in a 1-1 draw when Ed Rolph gave us an early lead before Firmin Ngandu equalised from the spot. The Millers have started the season well as expected although their 0-1 reverse at home to Brentwood Town was their first league defeat since January.

After Tuesday’s draw at Dereham Town Lance should be able to welcome one or two players back into the squad. Max York and Lee Smith  are both back in contention although George Coy will miss a few more weeks with the hamstring injury he picked up at Witham last weekend.

Tickets are available to buy online ahead of this game and securing your ticket in this way helps us to speed up access into the stadium for supporters and protect our staff from handling cash at the turnstile so please consider getting yours in this way if you are coming to the game. Get your match tickets here.

For those that purchase in advance please have your eTicket ready to be scanned and you will then be able to enter the ground via the gate adjacent to the turnstile. It’s quick and easy as long as you have your eTicket ready on your phone or in paper form if you have chosen to print it out and bring it with you.

A cash turnstile will be open but we would ask all supporters to please have the correct money with you when you get to the turnstile if at all possible. Once through the turnstile you will be asked to provide your contact details for Test & Trace purposes and this can be done by scanning the NHS QR Code or EvePass QR Code, both of which will be easily visible once inside. Alternatively you can manually leave your details with our volunteer staff who will be on hand once you come through the turnstile.

Match day programmes will be available to buy once inside at a cost of £2 but again, please have the correct change with you if at all possible to help reduce the amount of cash handled by our volunteers. This week’s issue includes skipper Max York’s weekly column as well as the usual updates from the board room, from the manager and news from our ladies and youth teams. It also features our Spanish defender Andy Ballester on the front cover.

The bar and burger bar will be open but supporters are asked to respect the limitations on numbers allowed in these spaces, wear face masks when in the bar and follow the one-way system in place to access and exit. Please also use the floor markings as guides to maintain social distancing when queuing for the burger bar or indeed anywhere else in the stadium.

We are working hard to ensure the safety of everyone at the stadium so please bear with us as we, along with every other club, implement these measures for everybody’s benefit and we look forward to welcoming you all back to the Bridge!
