Thurlow Nunn ECL Premier Division
Saturday 9th March 2019
Kick Off @ 3:00pm
After 4 home games in a row we hit the road tomorrow when we visit The New Croft to take on Haverhill Rovers.
Our last visit there came in September 2017 when goals frm Max York and Ed Rolph saw us take all three points. This season Rovers were our first opponents when they came to The Glassworld back on Friday 3rd August. That game ended in a 4-0 win for us thanks to goals from Ed Rolph, Lewis McDonald and two from Danny Gould which gave our season the perfect start.
Rovers’ recent form has seen them win just once in the last five games but that was an impressive 1-0 away win at Walsham Le Willows a couple of weeks ago. They fared less well last weekend, going down 1-4 at Goddy Rovers.
Tuesday night’s last minute win over Gorleston at The Glassworld (not another late winner??!) streched our own unbeaten league run to 8 games and extended our lead at the top of the table to 7 points. Our closest rivals face tough away games tomorrow (Goddy at Newmarket Town while Woodbridge visit Stowmarket Town) and so a good result for us in Suffolk could see our position strengthen further. Lance is under no illusions as to how difficult the run in is going to be though and will have the squad focused on the game in hand, one at a time.
The Gaffer should be able to call on Salim Relizani tomorrow after the forward missed out on Tuesday. James Chivers returned to action from the bench in midweek and Simon Swinton was fit enough to make the bench as well although didn’t come on.
