Thurlow Nunn ECL Premier Division
Saturday 12th January 2019
Kick Off@ 3:00pm
Tomorrow we leave thoughts of the FA Vase behind and start a very busy month of league fixtures before the visit of Northwich Victoria at the beginning of February.
Our hosts tomorrow are Great Yarmouth Town and they have been in tremendous form of late, winning their last 5 games to haul themselves off the bottom of the table. Three of those wins have come at home against Newmarket Town (2-0), Gorleston (2-0) and most recently against Hadleigh Uited (4-0).
The Bloaters have been fast improving of late as these results show and have been helped by the arrival of Stevenage Borough duo Dylan Switters and Harry Draper on loan. Keeper Charlie Beckwith has also arrived on loan recently from Leiston as Town look to maintain and build on their current form.
Following last weekend’s FA Vase win Lance reports no new injuries within the squad although Salim Relizani is still away and will not return to the squad until next weekend. Lance was able to welcome Dan Brown back into the team last weekend after the striker missed a few games in order to get married over the Christmas holidays whilst Andreu Ballester also returned last weekend after spending Christmas back home in Spain with his family and so the Gaffer will have decisions to make ahead of tomorrow’s game.
Our last visit to the Wellesley Stadium in November 2017 was an eventful one. We were a goal down early on before a sending off for the Bloaters midway through the first half got us going and goals from James Carman, Pat Bexfield, Matt Hayden (2), Casey Phillips and Evan Key saw us take the points home with a 6-1 win.
Kick Off is at 3:00pm.
Driving time from The Glassworld Stadium approx: 1 hour 35 mins (83 miles)
From West (A47): Approaching Great Yarmouth on the A47 at the end of the single carriageway you will come to a roundabout where the A12 and A47 meet. Take the second exit onto the A149 towards the town centre. Continue to the next roundabout (Fuller’s Hill roundabout) and take the second exit. Keep in the left hand lane and at the traffic lights turn left onto Northgate Street. Follow this road to the roundabout and take the second exit onto Kitchener Road. At the crossroads go straight ahead onto Sandown Road and you will see the Wellesley on the right.
