Thurlow Nunn ECL Premier Division
Friday 17th August 2018
Kick Off @ 7:45pm

Tomorrow night we take the short journey to Godmanchester Rovers for our first away game of the season as we look to maintain our impressive start.

Following Saturday’s 6-1 win over Peterborough Northern Star we return to league action in good shape having also won our first two league games of the season against Haverill Rovers and Long Melford.

Our hosts have had a fine start to their campaign and they too have a 100% record so far, winning their first two league games against Wroxham and Haverhill Rovers before following that up with victory over Newport Pagnell Town in The FA Cup last weekend, and all achieved without conceding a goal so far this season.

We met three times last season, twice in the league and again in the League Cup. The first of these was at the Glassworld in late August and we came through 4-2 with goals from Ed Rolph, Joe Sutton and two from Matt Hayden putting us 4 up before Rovers pulled two back late on. We next met in November in the League Cup in November, again at the Glassworld but this time the visitors progressed courtesy of a 1-0 win.

The third meeting of the season was at Bearscroft Lane in March when Ed Rolph struck the decisive goal to give as a league double over Rovers with a 1-0 win.

As for team news Lance will have some decisions to make with the team performing well and numerous players pushing for a place in the starting XI. Striker Dan Brown made a welcome return to action from the bench on Saturday and will be pushing for inclusion and the Gaffer reports that he has no new injury concerns ahead of this game.
