Thurlow Nunn ECL Premier Division
Saturday 27th April 2019
Kick Off @ 3:00pm

Tomorrow we conclude our 2018/19 season with a trip to Framlingham Town.

Since being crowned Champions earlier this month the team have continued in good form in the league and Tuesday night’s 6-1 demolition of Newmarket Town at The Glassworld was strong evidence that Lance and the squad are keeping the winning momentum going right to the end.

Lance should have keeper Sam Roach available again although Salim Relizani remains a doubt as he continues his recovery from a knee injury picked up against Kirkley last month and other than that the rest of the squad should be available to play.

The Castlemen have had a tough season after promotion to the Premier Division last year when they finished runners up to Woodbridge Town in Division 1, and relegation awaits this time around. The two teams met at The Glassworld Stadium in February and served up an enteraining game. We started like a steam train, racing into a 3 goal lead in the first half hour thanks to goals from Dan Brown, Salim Relizani and Evan Key but we certaily didn’t have it all our own way as Town fought back to 3-2 and it was only a Max York penalty deep into injury time at the end of the game that finally made the points safe for us.

Town have had a tricky run of games recently having faced Walsham, Woodbridge and Godmanchester whilst a 4-1 win away at Clacton shows that they are quite capable of getting results with Danny Smith their leading scorer on 12 for the season.
