Thurlow Nunn ECL Premier Division
Tuesday 19th March 2019
Kick Off @ 7:45pm
Tomorrow night we head to the Essex coast to take on FC Clacton at The Rush Green Bowl. After Saturday’s win over Thetford Town we maintained our 10 point lead at the top of the table but tomorrow’s game will be a tough test with the Seasiders in good form. Closest challengers Godmanchester Rovers (away at Brantham Athletic) and Woodbridge Town (away at Haverhill Rovers) are also both in action so this will be another important game as we enter the final run in.
The game at The Glassworld back in November ended in a 3-0 win with goals from Max York, Ed Rolph and Danny Gould seeing us home and last season results went our way too, 2-0 at The Glassworld and 1-0 at The Bowl in May. Tomorrow promises to be a tough one with our hosts having picked up some impressive results recently, most notably their 5-3 win over Godmanchester and a 2-1 win at Kirkley & Pakefield, both last month. A record of 6 wins, 2 draws and only 2 defeats from their last 10 outings points to a team in good nick with Adam Hampson and Karl Andrade both in double figures for goals scored this season so far.
Going in to a run of three long away trips in a row, Lance can be pleased that the squad is pretty much back to fitness now which will give the gaffer options if he feels he needs to make changes to keep everyone fresh and firing with with 10 games still to play in the last 6 weeks of the season. Salim Relizani returned after illness in style on Saturday to grab the winner a minue after coming off the bench whilst Simon Swinton, James Chivers and Danny Gould are all getting closer to a full return to the side.
