CAMBRIDGE CITY v HISTON
Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division
Monday 27th December 2021
Kick off @ 3.00pm

Probably doesn’t need much of an introduction this one as our next game in the Pitching In NPL Midlands Division is an away game at Cambridge City! It’s that game where we all go in through a different turnstile and the players get changed in the “wrong” dressing room and, as usual, it will be a big derby game with two committed teams going at each other and giving everything. You really don’t want to miss it!

Like us, City were not delighted to have been moved into this league but after a shaky opening couple of games have found their feet and are in a comfortable-enough mid-table position at the moment. They haven’t won at The Bridge since 29th September though when they defeated Yaxley 2-1 with their most recent couple of “home” results a 1-3 reverse against Chasetown and a 3-4 defeat by Coleshill Town last weekend.

Our own form has picked up markedly in the last few weeks as we’ve been able to welcome more players back from injury as well as bring one or two new (old) faces back to the club. Last weekend’s draw against high-flying Belper Town shows how far this team has come recently as it was only a last-kick-of-the-game equaliser that gave the Nailers a point to take home with them to Derbyshire.

Going in to Monday’s game Lance hopes to be able to call on Ryan Towner, Bubba Camara and Finley Wilkinson again although Manu Ramirez, Evan Key, Lee Smith and Bernat Burguera remain out and Victor Garcia is unavailable. It’s fair to say that the Gaffer may have a few selection decisions to make on Monday and that kind of headache is one he hopes to have to deal with on a more regular basis from now on.

Big game, kick of 3.00pm. Don’t miss it!
