BetVictor Isthmian League North
Wednesday 1st January 2020
Kick Off @ 3:00pm

After Boxing Day’s last gasp win over Cambridge City ended 2019 on a high note we begin the new year with a trip to AFC Sudbury’s MEL Group Stadium where we have a chance to repay the Yellows for the 4-1 reverse inflicted on us at Bridge Road earlier this season and keep ourselves in touch with the play-off chasing group at the top of the table.

Mark Morsley’s side sit 16th in the table at the moment and have slipped away a bit after a promising start to the season. Recent form has not been bad though with a 1-0 win away at Heybridge Swifts particularly impressive in November but their last home game saw them go down 0-2 to Cambridge City. Midfielder Callum Harrison has found the back of the net in 5 of the last 7 games but Tom Maycock and veteran striker Sean Marks have 20 goals between so far and all will pose a threat on New Years Day.

We go into the game on a high after the derby win over City that came on the back of successive 3-0 wins over Canvey Island and Bury Town, all of which has propelled us up to 6th in the table with three wins and three clean sheets in a row. Lance has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of this one and the squad will go into the game with confidence before we return to The Bridge on Saturday to host Basildon United.
