The Stutes make the short trip to Mildenhall Town on Saturday, looking to progress to the First Qualifying Round of The FA Cup for the first time since the 2019/20 season.
Our hosts have made a promising start to their Eastern Counties League campaign, currently sitting in 3rd place having collected 7 points from their opening 3 fixtures, along with an FA Cup victory over Hadleigh. Striker George Bugg is leading the frontline with 4 goals in as many games, whilst Tanner Call, and Kieran Twinn have also had an eye for goal, both netting on two occasions. Lance Key’s men will no doubt be looking to avenge the recent pre-season defeat, and get back on track following disappointment of the set back suffered at Easington last time out.
Within the home sides ranks are former Stutes Youth Team member Adam Capel, who recently signed from Ely City, and Miles Smith who also called Bridge Road home. Smith also made the switch to Recreation Way this summer. The player connections continue as current Stutes Sam Roach, and Dan Brown have also seen spells with our near neighbours from Suffolk.
The winners of the tie shall progress to the First Qualifying Round of the competition, with games due to be played on Saturday 3rd September 2022.
Should scores be level after 90 minutes, and replay be required, it will take place at Bridge Road on Tuesday 23rd August, Kick Off 7:45pm.
