Wellingborough Town make the relatively short trip to Bridge Road, as we host back to back United Counties League fixtures. The Doughboys come into town on the back of a 3-2 away victory on Saturday at 10 man Easington Sports.
The Northamptonshire side have been a mainstay within the UCL since their re-formation in 2004, having operated in the Premier Division since 2005 when promotion from Division One was gained. Last season Paul Lamb guided his side to a respectable 7th place finish. This term they have made a promising start, collecting 13 points, having won on 4 occassions, with 1 draw and a loss from their 6 fixtures.
The Doughboys last 5 fixtures have all been somewhat close, with only a goal separating the two sides. Lloyd Buckby leads the scoring charts with 5 goals thus far, whilst both Luis Viera and Thomas Laciofano have netted 3 times. Paul Lamb will no doubt be hoping that his defensive line can become more resolute as they seek to remain toward the top of the table. Thus far they have yet to keep a clean sheet .
Goals against will no doubt be something that Stutes boss Lance Key also looks to rectify, having conceded 4 to then bottom side Lutterworth Town on Saturday. Having been unavailable, skipper Olly Brookes will look to be a welcome return in the heart of the defence. The last clean sheet kept by The Stutes was the fine FA Cup victory over Desborough, back on August 9th.
If the form book is to go by, then a 0-0 draw would appear to be unlikely!
