Cambridgeshire FA Professional Cup Final
Saturday 30th July 2016

Our first competitive game of the season ended in disappointment after Alex Serrano’s 53rd minute strike proved to be the winner. Steve Fallon was without the services of Pat Bexfield, Simon Unwin and Matty Allan but the game saw a number of players make their Histon debuts whilst the Manager was able to run the rule over a handful of trialists. Fallon also got the chance to see what keeper Aaron Chapman could do on the pitch when he came on for the injured Dammy Nickels on the right wing!

Giovani Ashli gave the visitors the lead in the 7th minute with a close range finish but Cameron Watson, who signed first team registration forms after the game, levelled things up on the stroke of half time with a shot from 10 yards after the ball ran loose in the City area (pictured).

Serrano struck a fine shot across Conroy into the far top corner to score what proved to be the winner soon after the break although Watson went close again on 90 minutes with a header that flew just over the bar.
