BetVictor Isthmian League North
Thursday 26th December 2019
Kick Off @ 1:00pm

Today’s game goes ahead as planned after a 10:30am pitch inspection gave us the all clear. Kick Off at 1:00pm.

The Boxing Day Derby against City looks set to be a cracker this year, you don’t want to miss it!

We’ve already met twice this season already of course with honours even at one win each. Ed Rolph’s second half hat-trick followed skipper Max York’s first half penalty to give us a 4-1 win in the Velocity Trophy in September whilst goals from Jarid Robson and Michael Gyasi gave City the win in the Cambs Invitation Cup in November. Thursday’s game will be altogether different though with valuable league points at stake.

City are currently 12th in the table, six points behind us but with a game in hand. Their form at Bridge Road hasn’t been great with only two wins from eight home games, the most recent of which was a 3-2 win over Basildon United in early November.

Our own recent form at The Bridge has been good with four wins from our last five league games, most recently the impressive 3-0 victory over then league leaders Bury Town in our last league outing. Lance will have some selection decisions to make with the full squad expected to be available for this one as we look to keep pace with the play-off chasing group.

Supporters should be aware that contingencies have been put in place for a pitch inspection should the weather be against us. These will obviously be dependent upon rainfall between now and Boxing Day but if it is deemed necessary, a decision on whether the game will go ahead will be made by 11am on Thursday morning and the club will update on Twitter/Facebook and the club website as soon as possible on the day.
