Franklin BRONI-MENSAH - Striker
Franklin BRONI-MENSAH
Having been out of the game for a year Broni-Mensah attended a summer trial at Bridge Road and impressed the Manager enough to be asked to join the squad for pre-season. He was given a chance to show what he could do and responded with goals and that was enough to persuade the Manager to give him a deal for 2014-15. The 23 year old played most of his football as a student at Leicester University in the BUCS League before spending a season at Oadby Town. Without a club last season the Londoner is ready to go again this season.

Peter CLARK - Midfield
Peter CLARK
Another one of Manager Page’s young scholars, Clark graduated in the summer of 2014 and Page acted quickly to secure the midfielder’s future at Bridge Road. He got a taste of First Team action towards the end of the 2012-13 season, making two appearances from the bench, but had to wait until February of this year until his first start (against Harrogate Town). He followed that up with a Man of the Match performance at the heart of the midfield in the away draw at Worcester City in March and has shown great promise in his appearances thus far. Page will be expecting the youngster to show his passing and dribbling skills this year and step up to claim a regular starting place in the side.

Another Histon Scholarship graduate who has over 40 First Team appearances despite still being only 18 years of age. A key player for the youth teams he made the step up to First Team level during the 2012-13 season and has featured regularly ever since. Able to operate wide on either flank or centrally when required, his ability to run at defenders combined with a fearsome shot on either foot make him a threat to any opposition defence.

Another graduate of the Histon FC Scholarship, Libertucci left for pastures new at the start of 2012-13 and became a regular starter for Bedford Town. Returning to Bridge Road for the start of this last season, the 20 year old suffered a series of niggling injuries that hampered his season but when finally fully fit he started to show the range of passing and quality of dead ball delivery that made him such a stand out player at youth team level. Salim RELIZANI - Midfield
Salim RELIZANI
Pacey, tricky and direct, the 19 year olds’ performances and goals for the Youth Teams earned him a chance in the senior side last season. After graduating from our Scholarship Programme in the summer the Manager was keen to get a deal in place to keep him at Bridge Road and was pleased to secure his signature along with a number of others. He gained widespread acclaim for stepping forward to come on as a sub against Telford United in March – to replace the injured Grainger in goal – and produced a fine performance between the sticks but his attacking threat and goals are what he will bring to the side.

Matty WATERS - Striker
Matty WATERS
Yet another Histon Scholarship graduate and prolific goal scorer at Under 18, Under 19 and County level. The youngster made his senior debut from the bench against Solihull Moors in October 2012, scoring his first senior goal against Bradford Park Avenue in November before adding two more against Workington and a stunning late winner at Worcester City in January. Injuries hampered his progress last season but he scored within minutes of coming on to equalise against Brackley Town in his first appearance of the season in December. He went on loan to St Ives Town towards the end of last season and was immediately on the score sheet including a hat trick from the bench that almost secured an unlikely draw for Town. Fully fit this time around and ready to go the young striker will be looking to do what he does best this season, and that’s putting the ball in the net.

Completed his Scholarship in the summer of 2014 and signed his first contract with the club soon after. The young left back had been a mainstay of the club’s youth teams for some time and gained First Team experience last season on loan at St Ives Town, where he excelled. He grabbed his chance to make an impression in the First Team at Histon with a Man of the Match senior debut against Leamington in March and showed he could make the step up to the First Team here at Bridge Road. A talented and determined defender who will make it tough for the manager to leave him out.

Another ex-Scholar that contnually impressed for the youth teams all the way up through the age groups. The young defender’s versatility saw him operate in the centre as well as on the right at youth team level but it is at right back that he has made a place in the senior side his own. Following a handful of substitute appearances in 2012-13 he got his chance to impress at the start of last season covering for the injured Zak Mills and went on to make 31 starts in total. Established as a regular on the team sheet now despite still being only 19.

Simon UNWIN - Midfield
Simon UNWIN
Another graduate of the Scholarship Programme at Histon and another player that was with the Academy here as a youngster before that. He left Bridge Road in search of First Team football elsewhere three seasons ago and most recently was with Eastbourne Borough. Now 22, the midfielder was asked back for pre-season by Brian Page and impressed enough to earn a deal for this season. Can operate centrally but is probably most at home on the left hand side where his trickery and ability to deliver dangerous balls into the box make him one to watch.
