Strong display against Stevenage encourages Stutes fans
Last night's outing against Stevenage at the Glassworld provided substantial evidence that, despite rigorous financial constraints, John Beck is putting together a Blue Square Premier team that is more than capable of holding its own.

Strong performances from a number of the trialists pleased the Manager, with winger Luke Medley and goalkeeper George Lawton being stand-out performers in the 0-2 loss to the League Two outfit.

20 year old Medley, who hails from Greenwich, was particularly impressive going forward, and showed flashes of what he could be capable of if he is retained for the upcoming season. Following the game Beck was keeping his cards close to his chest, but the striker who came through the academy at Tottenham Hotspur will have impressed the Stutes manager.

Another notable performance came from former Impington Village College student George Lawton, who excelled in goal for Histon and was only beaten through a fantastically worked goal from Yemi Odubade in the first half and a penalty in the second. Solid performances from Daniel Sparkes and Callum Stewart will have been noted, as the products of the clubs academy look to cement their place in the starting XI for the coming season.

Next Wednesday at the Glassworld (21st July 7.45pm kick-off), John Beck will be looking to further hone the squad in another friendly against an African Select XI. As with all friendlies, entrance is £5 for adults and £1 concessions. Get along to the Club and see what a great job is being done to prepare for the new season!
