On Thursday, 29 October 2009 at a Board meeting
at Histon Football Club, the then current Chairman Gareth Baldwin resigned from
his position due to ill-health and stress with immediate effect. The
Board elected Tony Roach as the new Chairman in a majority vote and Gareth

Tony's major responsibility as Chairman of the Club is to secure the financial
stability of HFC and to help do this in part, the club is actively seeking new
investors and sponsors. However, the club iskeen tothank allcurrent supporters,
sponsors and advertisers for their continued involvement in these tough
financial times.
It is also the Club’s intention to develop the
youth policy from the Academy through to the Scholars and to further develop
the first team by bringingyouth players
forward.
Tony Roach has been involved with HFC for the past 3 years. He is a
successful local business man starting JK Environmental and Sons Ltd in 1997,
the company was then acknowledged as the 49th company in the Sunday Times
Fasttrack 100 Companies in 2002. After selling JKE in 2007, Tony and his
wife Julie, bought The Banyers Hotel in Royston and after a total refurbishment
the hotel is now running to a high standard offering weddings, parties,
corporate events, Christmas parties and fine dining in beautiful
surroundings. In April 2007, Tony then bought Omar Homes out of
Administration. Omar Park Homes Ltd is now a major sponsor of the Academy
and Club alike.
Tony added ”Histon Football Club has established a reputation as a friendly
family club during Gareth Baldwin's highly successful tenure as Chairman and the
Board wish to carry this on, and with the support of the loyal fans we are
committed to taking the club forward. We want the buzz back at the club
that we had last year and with some streamlining and forward planning there is
no reason we cannot achieve this."
Finally Tony stated; "I would like to
acknowledge the continued support of our fans, volunteers and staff at the
club. They are all highly regarded and greatly appreciated and are all
very much part of our future together."
Tony, the Board of Directors and all the volunteers and staff at HFC look
forward to welcoming everyone to the next home game at the Glass world Stadium
