New partnership at the Glass World

Histon Football are delighted to announce that with immediate effect Ossie Mintus and Neil Kennedy have been appointed as reserve team managers. Last year’s manager Ian Hart remains as Academy general manager and will be extending his responsibilities to all areas of the academy including the satellite centres, player recruitment, development whilst retaining all responsibility for the scholars.

Manager Steve Fallon spoke of the change within the club describing the change as a major step forward in the structure of the management team with an eye firmly on the future; “Ian has worked brilliantly with the scholars as well as driving the development of our talented young players in the reserves; because we now have another level of players to our academy and are extending the roles and responsibility Ian has within the club it’s a very logical move to have his focus in one area.

“The appointment of Ossie Mintus and Neil Kennedy to the reserve set up is just a huge bonus to our players, the club and our future. Ossie spent five years here as a player and knows the set up and players as well as anyone so we are delighted he has accepted the position as reserve team manager. To have Neil Kennedy managing the reserves with Ossie is just one huge bonus for everyone associated with Histon FC. Kendo is respected by everyone players and staff alike so his knowledge of both the club our staff and players can only benefit everyone and of course if he wants to keep playing it’s a good level.”

Chairman Gareth Baldwin spoke of his delight at the new appointments, "Ossie has worked hard to earn his coaching badges and has been earmarked by the management team for the last two years for a senior role within the team so its great news that this has been achieved. To keep Kendo at the club is just fantastic, our strength has always been the loyalty that people show the club so for Neil to make a commitment to us as a coach and manager will hopefully lead to him now spending the next ten years as part of the management team. To have the chance to cut your teeth at a club you know under the guidance and support of Steve Fallon and John Beck must be very appealing and in Ossie Mintus we have a natural winner who will work hard and keep everyone focused."
