One of the first decisions the Board took on taking office was to agree to the formation of this group and I was asked to lead it on behalf of the Club.

The purpose of the Group is to work with all interested partners to help develop interest in the Club and progress the Club’s links with the community. The Group now includes members from the Board, HIST, Histon Hornets, Club Secretary Howard Wilkins, Graham Eales and other club supporters keen to help.

Since the Group’s first meeting in mid August it has been working on a number of initiatives including the HFC community flyer delivered to over three thousand homes in the last few weeks, and arrangements for Tuesday 30^th October which includes the official naming of The Steve Fallon Stand.

Other initiatives include

• New family ticket (2 Adults & 2 Under 16’s) £15 which runs until the end of the year
• Junior Stutes membership card for every school child aged 5-11 in the village which will be given out this week to 750 children
• A visit by two First Team players to a Histon Junior School Assembly
• HFC Football Quiz evening Friday 23^rd November
• Christmas at HFC on Saturday 15 December ( information after Half Term )

It will take time for the Club to reconnect with its local community but the first of a number of positive steps have now been taken.
